Pine Creek's Digital Archive Project

Pine Creek Community Council and the Local Government Association of the Northern Territory (LGANT) launched the Pine Creek Community Digital Archive Project in 2004.

The Pine Creek Digital Archive uses SearchTech's Perfect Pictures imagemanagement software and contains over 4000 historic images of PineCreek's pioneer and prospecting years. Similar image management solutions are used in a large number of Australian community councils, libraries and tourism bodies.

The community archive is one of 10 that were stablished under LGANT's Community Digital Archive Project funded by Northern Territory Library and Information Services.

Elaine Gano from Pine Creek Community Council has scanned and processed the images from existing prints, thereby preserving this valuable historical resource for the community, future generations and the numerous visitors and tourists who are intrigued by the region'shistory. More images are being added as staff commitments allow.
