The PINE CREEK GOLDRUSHis a weekend celebrating our pioneering and mining history.
Now in it's 13th year, the Goldrush has been a great way to promote Pine Creek's unique heritage while involving many locals in a varied program of events including an the Pine Creek Art Prize , Food Stalls, Crafts, Novelty Events,and much more.
PINE CREEK ART PRIZE
The winner of the second annual $2000 Pine Creek Art Prize winner will be announced on Friday 8th August at the opening of the exhibition at the Railway Cottage. The competition is open to everyone, contact the Council for entry forms and rules.
NT GOLDPANNING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The NT Goldpanning Championships have been held for the past 10 years. In 2008 the championship will be scaled down to a local Goldpanning competition. There will still be trophies for all categories and prize money for the Open competition winner.
The competition covers these events:

BEGINNER
|
Restricted to those who have not competed in a Skilled goldpanning contest in Men's and Ladies section.

JUNIOR
|
Children: Boys and girls up to 12 years of age. Youth: Boys and girls from 12 - 16 years of age.
|
|
|
|
|
TEAM
|
Open competition for any combination of three competitors.
|
|
SKILLED
|
Anyone may compete but this is the event for the serious competitor Men's and Ladies section.
|
The Open Champion will be selected from the finalists of the 5 age groups plus two other fastest times.

DARWIN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA.
IN 2008, the Darwin Symphony Orchestra will hold a FREE concert under the stars in the Miners Park featuring music from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, and West Side Story, selections from Strauss including the Blue Danube and the Thunder and Lightning Polka.
Motel accommodation in Pine Creek will be very scarce, so plan on bringing a swag and/or tent.
